Colorless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid, with a slight odor, becomes colorless to light yellow cubic crystal system at low temperatures. The color gradually darkens when exposed to air. Easy to dissolve in water, ethanol, glycerol, and ethylene glycol, slightly soluble in benzene, ether, and almost insoluble in non-polar solvents.
APPLICATION
1. Used as an additive or anti-corrosion agent for plasticizers, neutralizers, lubricants, as well as a wetting agent for textiles and cosmetics, and a dispersant for dyes, resins, etc.
2. Used as a curing agent for epoxy resin, it can also be used as a raw material for synthesizing surfactants, detergents, stabilizers, and fabric softeners. Used in cosmetic formulations to neutralize fatty acids to form soap and sulfated fatty acids to form amine salts.
3. Used as a cleaning solution for removing acidic gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in exhaust gas treatment. It can also be used as a vulcanization activator for natural rubber and synthetic rubber, a polymerization activator for nitrile rubber, and as a lubricant and anti-corrosion additive.
4. Triethanolamine can be used as a solvent for casein, insect glue, dyes, etc. It can also be used as an industrial gas purifier, fiber processing agent, anti-corrosion additive, plasticizer, moisturizer, chelating agent, rubber vulcanization accelerator, photographic developer additive, detergent, cement enhancer, anti coking additive, etc. Triethanolamine is an important corrosion inhibitor component used in boiler water treatment, automotive engine coolant, drilling and cutting oil agents. In alkaline zincate galvanizing, it can complex with zinc, improve the cathodic polarization of the plating solution, and make the coating crystallize finely.
