Product Description

Basic Information:
Phenolphthalein, whose chemical name is 3,3-di(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3H-isobenzofuranone, is an organic compound with the molecular formula C20H14O4. It appears as a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder, soluble in ethanol and alkaline solutions, slightly soluble in ether, very slightly soluble in chloroform, and insoluble in water. Its characteristic property is colorless.in acidic and neutral solutions and turning purple-red in basic solutions, making it commonly used as an acid-base indicator.

Color Transition Range

• pH 8.2 to 10.0:
  Acidic/neutral solutions (pH < 8.2): Colorless
  Basic solutions (pH > 10.0): Turns from pink to deep red gradually
